Yobani Tejeda Elias is a young Cuban photographer and writer who presented his black and white images at the Camera Club of Ottawa on November 15th, 2005. "His pictures speak to the social and political realities of a world far removed from our own. Indeed, the possibilities of metaphor inherent in photographic arts are what enable artists such as Yobani the opportunity to critique their environments, and render his works compelling," says Montreal friend Will Amos. Some of his poems with the accompanying photographs are shown in the poetry gallery. |
